Project 52

Last week I finally took the plunge and decided to participate in a photography challenge called Project 52. You can read about it here if you are interested. The idea is this: each week a new theme will be revealed, and participants are to take a photo that symbolizes that theme. The variations people come up with are incredible. The whole purpose of the project is to help photographers become more creative and look outside the box, so to speak, when wielding the camera.

This is my first week participating, and the theme was Soothing Repetitions. This is my submission.

I originally thought of a clock because the sound of a clock ticking in the silence is very mesmerizing, (aka soothing) to me. Then I realized that I haven't heard such a sound in...oh, 5 years? So I realized that the day I hear the clock ticking again will be the day my house is once again silent. :-)

Every Friday (hopefully) I will post my selection for the week. If you decide to participate in Project 52 also, leave a comment...I'd love to see someone I know!
